Prayer Requests: Last updated October 19, 2009
1. We are offering something at the local community center each Tuesday night called: "Workshops for a happy family". Tomorrow night is the first one. We did some big park events over the last few months to advertise these workshops and have handed out a lot of flyers and invited a lot of folks. We are praying that a lot of folks will come and hear some helpful tips for their families, but more importantly, hear about the one who can truly heal their hearts and families.
2. Chanelle has started a women's group that meets every other week. God is blessing it and it is growing and some local ladies are taking over the leadership. We are praying for new groups that are again focused on the not-yet-saved.
3. We started our weekly worship 4 weeks ago and have an average of 25 to 30 folks each week. We are praying that God would give us a solid core group before the end of the year so that we can officially start the church in January.
4. Although we have seen a few folks come to the Lord lately and our numbers growing in each of our groups, we still have not been able to reach large numbers of local Spaniards (the immigrant south american population is much more open to the Gospel). We are praying that God would open the hearts and radically save the following Spaniards:A, M, J L, J, A, G, A, M J, J M, I and others.
5. Christy started a Sunday School class 6 weeks ago for Nigerians who wanted to study the Bible in English because they speak English better than Spanish. It is at the only Baptist church in the city. The class has turned into a very multi-cultural gathering with folks from Nigeria, Lithuania, Brazil, Germany, and Spain. One member in particular is not a believer and asks many questions and likes to argue. Please pray that this man will accept God's word as truth and will enter into a saving relationship with the King of Kings so that one day he will be found among the tribes and tongues around the throne!
